PLANNING: STORYBOARD
I tried to use a new story boarding method by using a website called StoryBoardThat. It is a useful tool that creates an instant storyboard. for example you can see the taster storyboard that I tried to create. However I believe that my usual style of storyboarding is more effective and can be edited quickly. Using this site seemed a bit gimmicky and childish.
The way I usually storyboard is by using post it notes which can be moved around if the plan changes. I got this idea by looking the OCR Weebly 2014 website and read how Steve Thorne recommended approaching the business of creating a storyboard. This has helped us as a group in the previous year to stay very organised and know what we are doing therefore we plan to do the same this year.
Here is the final story board that I created for our group's trailer. All the ides behind it where shared and everyone took part however I was the one who drew the scenes and wrote the captions to go along with them.

PLANNING: TREATMENT
WORKING TITLE:
The topline: four students A, B, C and D in need of some quick cash respond to an advert for being guineau pigs in medical research. They report to a lab and chat nervously. Soon they are prostrate on beds, in patient gowns, being injected / swallowing tablets under the watchful eye of two doctors. A cutaway shot suggests some hallucinatory experiences. the trailer cuts to student A in his /her ktichen the next morning suddenly receiving a text. The phone screen looks like a game with a challenge / task. The screen goes black. Student A feels compelled to follow the instructions. She is told to break a few laws on the way (such as steal money from her mother's handbag, snatch a scooter left on the pavement, throw a stone at a window). She is surprised at her own behaviour.
Her task is to surprise a stranger by breaking into their house. She finds that the stranger's house belongs to person B. They exchange greetings. A text arrives simultaneously on both their phones, instructing them with the next task. This one is harder. It involves persuading someone to take a high-level selfie. The screen goes black. They carry out the task. The person falls to their death and they realize that they are in the power of a mind control drug.
The big question: will the students resist the mind control drug before further challenges cause further traumas?

PLANNING: TRELLO
I used Trello again to create a platform to help me be organised with my planning section of the blog. I have created cards that can easily be move to each section when completed or are being done.

RESEARCH: TREATMENT
I watched FutureLearn on YouTube which showed me how Frank Ash would set up a treatment for a film. His main point are that you need to be interested in what you are creating and make sure that other people will be too.
"So, if you’re aiming for your film to reach a large audience online, making sure it has universal appeal will be key. We’ll be thinking about this in more practical terms later in the week, but let’s bring Frank Ash’s points together with the last step’s concerns:
- Think about your favourite book or film or any ‘good story’ you recently watched online, could you sum up its narrative into ‘one elegant sentence’ to provide its ‘topline’?
- What was its big story question, and how important was it to your appreciation of the text?"

RESEARCH: FILM EDUCATION TRAILER MAKER
I decided to make a trailer on the Film education website to help me further understand the making of a trailer. The website provides you with short clips and soundtracks that you can pick from. All of the clips are from the movie Die Hard starring Bruce Willis. Bellow are some screenshots of the process of making my own trailer for the movie and also a link to the trailer itself.
RESEARCH: OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRAILER
I have decided to research and analyse from the film Oz: The Great and Powerful. I have used the worksheets provided on the Film Education website along with multiple trailer examples one of them being Oz: The Great and Powerful. Click HERE to view the trailer.

RESEARCH: TRELLO
I used Trello to create a platform that I can always fall back on when I need to have a structure and plan of what I am doing. The cards created can be easily moved to the different section created from "To do" to "Doing" and then "Done" when the task is finished. This Trello is only for the research part of my blog.
